Participation at the 2016 EATLP Congress
EATLP 2016, the European Association of Tax Law Professors Annual Congress was held on 2-4 June in Munich, Germany. This internationally renowned event was organised by the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance, with the support of central organization of EATLP in Amsterdam and Munich University (LMU).
Congress venues included Bavarian Academy of Sciences, Max Planck Society Headquarters, Munich University (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München) and Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance. While over 300 participants, both from academic and non-academic circles, attended this year’s Congress, 20 national rapporteurs were invited to make presentations on the general topic of the Congress (“Tax Avoidance Revisited: Exploring the Boundaries of Avoidance and Anti-Avoidance Rules in the BEPS Context”). Team member Professor Nataša Žunić Kovačević, as an EATLP member, participated in the Congress with the National report for Republic of Croatia.
EATLP is an association of tax law professors, founded in 1999, due to the general importance of taxation for the development of the European Union, the wealth of the nations and the welfare of the society. Because of the importance of taxation for the further development of Europe the association wants to contribute to the development of a common approach to the study of tax issues, the harmonisation of taxes within the European Union, the promotion of academic teaching and research on international, domestic and comparative taxation at the universities in Europe.
