1st meeting of the Project Team
The first meeting of the Project Team was held on March 4, 2015 at the Faculty of Law, University of Rijeka, on the initiative of the Principal Investigator, Prof. Dr. Edita Čulinović-Herc.
Activities carried out so far and linked to the achievement of the aims set by the project, as well as the ones that are currently in progress were discussed at the meeting. At the outset, the members of the Project Team discussed technical issues. In addition to basic information on project cost estimate which was previously agreed with the Croatian Science Foundation, the meeting was focused on creating the project website, intended to ensure the nation- and European-wide project visibility. Possible ways of disseminating the research results were considered.
The meeting than focused on the issues related to research. Several researches presented the preliminary results of their research in the first project year. An overview of the listed company takeovers after the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union, prepared by Prof. Dr. Edita Čulinović-Herc and Dr. Antonija Zubović was presented, as well as the overview of the company mergers and acquisitions in the post-accession period in the Republic of Croatia prepared by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dionis Jurić and Dr. Mihaela Braut Filipović. It was agreed that the meeting with the external consultants will be held at the end of May or beginning of June 2015.
One of the most important issues at the meeting concerned the organisation of the international conference “Corporate Acquisitions and Access to Entrepreneurial Financing in Post-Accession Era“ which is planned for October 2015.
